As previously mentioned, our hotel was pretty close to the New Town, which meant it was also not far was the Old Town. The Old Town houses many of the things Prague is best known for, not least of all the Astronomical Clock - attached to the Old Town Hall.
Old Town Hall
We climbed to the top of the Clock Tower for the BEST views of the city.
After exploring a little more of the Old Town, we head toward the Jewish Quarter.
The Old Jewish Cemetery & Ceremonial Hall.
The Old-New Synagogue. Built in 1270, it is the oldest synagogue in Eastern Europe. Most interesting fact -- This synagogue survived only because the Nazis intended it to be part of their "Museum of the Extinct Jewish Race." . . .
Check out this cute little Jewish boy I found wondering around ;)
The oh so beautiful, Spanish Synagogue - displays of Jewish history though the 18th, 19th and 20th century. A completely different experience from the Old-New Synagogue.
Leaving the Jewish Quarter, we headed back towards the Old Town. Using another of Rick's self-guided walking tours, we came across the Lennon Wall as we made our way through the Little Quarter.
and the Old Water Wheel . . . & of course locks on the "bridge" because this is Europe.
Charles Bridge
Checking Rick's recommendations for a lunch spot. . . . Nailed it! Best Goulash we ate ALL trip in the absolute yummiest of bread bowls. Thanks Rick, you never let us down.
We took our time crossing the bridge and bought a ticket to climb the bridge tower.
Checking a few more stops off the list, it was officially snack time!
. . .instant addiction. I'm not admitting anything, but we may have stopped here a few four other times over the course of the weekend. Like I said, not admitting anything.
Every time we turned a corner I found myself more and more enchanted by the beautiful architecture, well manicured window gardens & charming cafés lining every street.
After a simple, tasty dinner & some strategic rain avoidance, we headed a little out of the way to check out the Dancing House.
Two very tired, "sore-feeted" tourists called it a night & enjoyed the rest of the evening, lounged in their hotel room.
