Hitscherhof Pumpkin Festival

To celebrate the start of fall and all things Pumpkin we headed to Massweiler, Germany with the McCormicks to check out the Hitscherhof Pumpkin Festival.  We met up with several of The McCormick's jag friends and enjoyed a relaxing afternoon filled with pumpkins . . .  pumpkin soup, pumpkin brots, pumpkin honey . . . pumpkins, pumpkins, pumpkins.

There really are very few things to dislike about fall.

Pumpkin Brot selfie with the McCormicks.
. . . Although, to be honest I wasn't exactly overwhelmed by a pumpkin taste.  It really didn't taste that much different than a regular brot in my opinion, but what do I know?!

The DELICIOUS pumpkin soup.  Daniel didn't care for the taste so I got to enjoy the entire bowl all to myself.  So good.  Even the pumpkin seeds had a good flavor to them.

In German, "Hofladen" means farmer store or what we would call a farmers' market in English.

I could celebrate fall every weekend.  Thank you God for fall.   . . . For designing leaves that turn all sorts of wonderful shades of yellow, brown, orange and red.  Thank you for instilling a love of farming in the heart of so many people who look after and care for your creation and provide ways for others to participate in the celebration of their labors.
